Puratos Canada is proud to announce the official launch of Cacao-Trace in our chocolate compound coating and inclusion production at our Richmond site, starting November 1, 2025. This marks an exciting step forward in our commitment to sustainability and exceptional taste.

What is Cacao-Trace?

The Cacao Trace program is a sustainable cocoa sourcing initiative focused on improving both chocolate quality and the lives of cocoa farmers. It emphasizes better post-harvest practices, such as controlled fermentation and drying, to ensure consistently superior taste. Farmers receive a quality premium for their higher-quality wet beans, and an additional Chocolate Bonus of €0.10 per kilogram of chocolate sold goes directly to their communities to improve income, education, and healthcare infrastructures. This program not only enhances the flavour of chocolate but also creates a positive social and environmental impact. It’s a win-win for cocoa farmers, customers, and the planet.

Why it matters:

  • Supports cocoa farmers with fair and transparent practices
  • Promotes sustainable sourcing and environmental responsibility
  • Guarantees exceptional taste for chocolate lovers

This launch not only enhances product quality and supports farming communities — it also offers a compelling sustainability story for your customers
