Puratos Canada is proud to be awarded certification in accordance with the British Retailer Consortium’s (BRC) global standard for food safety, at our Mississauga production facility, with a “AA” grade – the highest possible grade within the audit program.

“As a reliable partner in innovation, it is important to keep high standards in everything we do, including food safety and quality. Day in, day out, the Puratos Canada team is dedicated to keep those standards high and provide our customers with the best, safest and high-quality solutions”, says Jerry Nunes, Director of Operations at Puratos Canada. “For eight years in a row, we have received BRC Grade A certification. This year, the team worked hard to step up their game and achieved the grade AA, ensuring the highest food safety standard of our customers.”

The BRC is a world-class security program that sets the standard for the entire supply chain in the agri-food industry. The program is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Obtaining this certification by GFSI validates the highest standards of quality, safety and traceability associated to our way of working.

Earning this designation requires annual audits to assess our risk management, safety and hygiene systems, and our control of manufacturing processes, as well as upstream and downstream product traceability. The benchmark standards of the audit are among the most demanding in the industry, thereby allowing us to positively contribute to our customer’s value chain.

The Grade AA BRC certification gives us recognition in meeting the highest global standards for food safety and quality. It reaffirms our commitment and assures our customers that our products are produced under the most stringent food safety standards in the world.
