Crowning Glory for Puratos Canada Inc.
1600 hours Eastern Time on 6th November 2006, a convoy of very impressive vehicles drove through the gates of Puratos Canada with an even more impressive list of occupants.
We were delighted to spend the next 90 minutes welcoming and hosting HRH Crown Prince Philippe of Belgium. Along with him were a host of distinguished guests including Mississauga Mayor McCallion, HE Ambassador Jean Lint, HE Ambassador Glasgow, HE Marc Verwilghen, Federal Minister of Economy, Energy, Foreign Trade & Science Policy and representatives of the Royal Palace, Belgian Embassy in Toronto, Belgian Foreign Trade Agency, Federal Public Service, Chamber of Commerce and members from the local and international media.
Peter Deriemaeker welcomed our guests and introduced the Puratos Group. Gert De Boever followed up by giving the august gathering a flavour of Team Puratos Canada and its journey over the last 19 years.
Steve Bright then guided the delegation through the factory fielding some extremely interesting questions.
Then everyone shed their lab coats and hard hats to enjoy an array of delightful Puratos treats. These included Canapés with pâté made with Filone TM , Mini Tartlets made with pomegranate filling/Mirabelle plums and tropical fruit filling/quetsch plums , Belgian Chocolate Loaf Cake made with Tegral Belgian Chocolate Cake & Belcolade Noir Selection, Mini Grain Muffins made with Tegral Natur'ALL Grain and Puravita Pan-O-Col.
The range of products, showcasing our innovativeness and technical skills, was thoroughly enjoyed. Some of us were hoping to take a few samples back home but we had no such luck!
Whilst we all washed down these wonderful flavours with a glass of delicious Canadian Ice wine, Gert presented the Monseigneur and the Mayor of Mississauga a memento to commemorate their visit to our home.
All in all, Team Puratos Canada believes that HRH Prince Philippe of Belgium and all other the distinguished guests left with a great taste of Puratos and of the operations in Canada.
