R&D - Our Innovation lifeline
Research and development is critical to the consistent delivery of relevant and path breaking innovation. Our partners from the bakery, confectionery and chocolate making trades each need specific technologies and solutions. Consequently, our R&D efforts are organised around our business units. This helps focus and also aids the development of specific tailor made solutions for you - our partners. Broadly speaking, our R&D thrust is at four distinct levels.
Group Long Term Research Lab
Researchers at these laboratories are at the heart of new ingredient functionalities and new technologies. In this lab, they lay the foundation for our future products and services. They are also in charge of handling intellectual property matters such as patents.
Applied R&D
Each of our three business units manages its own research programs. These are essentially based on customer demand and technology monitoring and are carried out in collaboration with universities across the world. The knowledge gained is then centralised and made available to other Puratos researchers.
Centers of Competence
The Centers of Competence gather together experts in specific product types under one roof. Either the cultural origins of the product or the factory itself determines where a given center will be. For instance: bread is based in Germany, cake in the UK and the US,... Such localised R&D helps us better respond to customer expectations for technical support and tailor-made products.
Innovation Centers
Puratos' Innovation Centers are local hubs of excellence. A place where we combine our global expertise with local knowldege and experience. This is place where we ensure that our global presence coupled with our local expertise creates a constant flow of ideas and innovations that are totally relevant for our local customers and partners.
This is where we conduct training and demonstrations, organize innovation days and translate ideas into products. It is the ideal location for exchange of ideas with our colleagues and our customers.
